Fraud Prevention Initiatives
Fayette County is preparing a free property monitoring service to help residents receive early notice when land-record documents are recorded under a registered name.
Coming Soon: Protect Your Property with Fraud Guard
The Fayette County Recorder of Deeds is preparing to launch Fraud Guard, a free property monitoring service designed to help you protect your land records from potential fraud.
Using this simple, web-based tool, you’ll receive an email alert whenever a document is recorded under your registered name—giving you early warning if someone attempts to file documents against your property without your knowledge.
Whether you’re a homeowner, landlord, or business owner, Fraud Guard adds an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
Important: Fraud Guard is a notification service. An alert gives you an opportunity to review a recorded document; it does not prevent a document from being recorded.
How It Works
- Register your name or business name.
- If a land record is filed under that name, you’ll receive an email notification.
- The email will include a link to the recorded document for review.
- Your email is used only for fraud alerts—never for marketing or other purposes.
Sign-Up Instructions Will Be Available Soon
We’re finalizing the system to ensure it’s secure, accurate, and easy to use. Check back shortly for updates and sign-up information.
