How to Use the Calculator
- Select the county you need recording fees for, such as Fayette County.
- Select one of the four document choices: Deed, Mortgage, Mortgage Satisfaction, or Power of Attorney.
- Base fees are for up to 4 pages, 4 names, and 1 tax parcel number. Enter any additional pages, names, or parcel numbers so the calculator can adjust the estimate.
- Review the special notes below when calculating a deed fee.
Special Notes for Deeds
- Statement of Value pages: If a deed uses a Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Statement of Value form, the Fayette County Recorder of Deeds does not count that form as a fee page.
- Example: If a deed has 5 total pages and the fifth page is the Statement of Value form, enter 4 pages in the calculator.
- The same rule applies when another document type uses a Statement of Value form; the form is not counted as a fee page.
- Full transfer-tax exemption: Enter 0 in the Consideration Amount/Fair Market Value field, regardless of the consideration shown on the document.
- Partial transfer-tax exemption: Enter the amount upon which transfer tax is being based in the Consideration Amount/Fair Market Value field.
